as far as i can tell, which could very well be not very far at all, the correct answer is, no.los angeles did it but two of the teams i dont consider "major". being the WNBA and MLS. the mets and jets were 1969, but the knickswere technically 1970.

Quietly in the background... Don't forget the Bruins are doing better than they have in years.

IMAGINE... all FOUR in one calendar year?? Could happen...!!

Since Game 4 of the ALCS in October, when the Red Sox were down 3-1 to the Indians, the Sox, Pats and Celts have a combined record of 46 and F***ing 3...!!!! (as of 1/5/08)

Kinda reminds me of the late 80's... 1986 in fact...

great point!!! >>>>>"Since Game 4 of the ALCS in October, when the Red Sox were down 3-1 to the Indians, the Sox, Pats and Celts have a combined record of 46 and F***ing 3...!!!! (as of 1/5/08)" pats are just about a lock, the celts are definitely a good bet, but the bruins are a longshot , but oh so exciting it would be for the four majors , but again like 69>70 it would be 2 different seasons...

If you take the Knicks 69-70 season you don't get the Jets 68-69 season. That was a hell of a run though!

Good one--strictly speaking, though, the Knicks won in 70, right? Assume it started it 69 though.

Likewise Ian! I have to say, even as a West Coast fan, LOVED those Knicks teams of 70 & 73. Besides, Jerry West got his in 72, so it all worked out (nice how most of the big name folks back then, eventually, somehow, someway, got their championship--even the Big O, my all time favorite).

IMHO in order for 3 or 4 teams to win the same year.
lets say The Pats win in Febuary, The Celtics and Bruins win in what June??? Then say The sox win again in October.
That would be one hell of a year for New Englander's.
